Endorsements on your policy
You must comply with the following conditions
An endorsement is an amendment to the terms of your insurance policy. If you do not follow these conditions, you will break a condition of your policy and we will not pay any claim for theft, attempted theft, malicious damage or vandalism at the home.
Below are details of the endorsements applied to your policy
Locks Endorsement (LC01)
- Whenever you, your family or an authorised person are not present at the home the following security devices must be fitted and put into full operation:
- All external doors are fitted with either locks conforming to British Standard, or a 3 bolt multiple locking system
- Patio doors are fitted with key operated locks top and bottom or multi point locking system
- Domestic garages and outbuildings are fitted with locks
- All ground floor and accessible windows are fitted with key operated locks with detachable keys
- Whenever you, your family or an authorised person are not present at the home all keys must be removed from the locks and not left in view.
- When you, your family or an authorised person staying at the home go to bed all external doors and windows must be secured as described under 1, a-d above, except windows in occupied bedrooms can be left open for ventilation.
- When you, your family or an authorised person staying at the home go to bed keys can be left in the locks of doors and windows which could be used as an emergency escape route in the event of a fire.
- For the purpose of this endorsement an accessible window is any window that can be easily reached from the ground without the use of a ladder or via a single storey extension, balcony, external staircase or fire escape, nearby trees, outbuildings, garages, fences or walls.
Alarm Endorsement (AM01)
You are required to have an intruder alarm fitted to the home.
The intruder alarm must:
- Be installed by a company regulated by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) which incorporates the National Approval Council for Security Systems (NACOSS) or a company regulated by the Security Systems and Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB).
- Be put into full operation whenever you, your family or an authorised person is not present at the home, and if the alarm is key operated the keys must be removed to a place of safety and not left in view.
- Be put into full operation when you and your family or any authorised person staying at the home, go to bed.
- Be maintained in full working order under an annual maintenance contract with an appropriate alarm maintenance company or installer regulated by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) which incorporates the National Approval Council for Security Systems (NACOSS) or a company regulated by the Security Systems and Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB). We may require evidence of the maintenance agreement in the event of a claim.
You must:
- Inform the intruder alarm company immediately of any fault discovered in the alarm system.
- Inform us immediately of any written notification from the police authorities or private security firm if applicable, about the withdrawal or possible withdrawal of their response to alarm calls.

Cancellation terms
You can cancel your Home Insurance at any time
Cancellation within 14 days cooling off period
If cover has not started, we will refund the full premium. If cover has started, we will keep an amount of premium in proportion to the time you have been on cover and refund the rest to you provided no claims have occurred. If any claims have been made you will not receive a refund of premium.
Cancellation outside of 14 days cooling off period
As long as you have not incurred eligible claims during the period you have been on cover, an amount of premium in proportion to the time you have been on cover will be kept and rest of premium will be refunded. Administrator will apply an administration fee of £25 as part of cancellation.
If you are paying by instalments, your instalments will end. However if you have incurred eligible claims you will either have to continue with the instalments, until the policy renewal date, or we may, at administrator’s discretion, take the outstanding instalments you still owe from any claim payment made. If you pay annually and you have received payment for or are in the process of making a claim you will not receive any refund of premium.
Renewals
Automatic renewal
We'll write to you about a month before your policy is due to end with details of how much your policy will cost for the following year, as well as what you paid last year.
We’ll automatically renew your policy and take payment five days before your renewal date. If you choose to pay annually, we'll automatically take payment in full and will use the card details you provided at checkout when you first purchased the policy. If you choose to pay monthly, we'll automatically take one months payment.
You can opt out or cancel automatic renewal
